Appalachian Christmas Afternoon Tea
December 8 @ 11:00 am – 1:00 pm
I visited Appalachia and the Smoky Mountain School of Cooking last year but now is the perfect time to share the homestyle food and cuisine from that region. This mountain food is known for its simplicity and heartiness, with many Appalachian traditions originating from early Scottish and British settlers. During Christmas in Appalachia, you can expect dishes to include daily staples such as biscuits, cornbread, preserved garden vegetables, winter squash, fall fruits, country ham, and bacon. These recipes and stories have been passed down through generations, creating a rich culinary heritage. Join me as I put a new twist on traditional ingredients to craft a comforting Appalachian Christmas Afternoon Tea to celebrate the holiday season.
